Linelle LeMoine is an artist working in mixed media painting. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she completed a science degree and moved to Toronto in 1973 to continue her academic studies. After working eighteen years in psychiatry, Linelle began painting for a number of years at the John Smith School of Art. She continued painting courses in the late nineties at the Ontario College of Art, and in 2003, graduated from the Toronto School of Art.
She is inspired by her biological studies, backyard studio, and the paintings of Abstract Expressionists such as Cy Twombly and Joan Mitchell. Linelle’s mixed media paintings on wood panel are her interpretations of the natural environment. Currently she is predominately working with Farrow and Ball house paints, experimenting with their palette, pliability, and texture.
